This year, we are excited to continue utilizing A Family of Faith by Sophia Institute for our Family Program. Through A Family of Faith, parents and children grow in their life of faith together as a family. Parents and children meet on the 2nd Sunday of every month* from 12:15 - 1:30 pm in the Gathering Space at St. James. After enjoying a meal together, there will be time for parents to meet together with other parents during the parent session while the children attend class. Between meetings, parents teach their children the Catholic Faith at home. This year, we will explore Volume 2 of A Family of Faith together, which is a study on the seven sacraments. In addition to growing and learning together, we will celebrate our faith together through special family day events, which feature speakers, musicians, and crafts and activities for the whole family. *Due to Confirmation in October and Easter in April, we will meet on the first Sunday of the month in October and April of this year.
We are pleased to continue to offer our traditional Faith Formation program on Sunday mornings from 9:30 - 10:45 am. This year, we will be using Word of Life by The Augustine Institute and Ignatius Press for our K-5 curriculum. Word of Life is a state of the art, integrated approach to catechesis that young learners will enjoy through a blended learning model of textbook, online learning interactions, and engaging video enhancements. EDGE is a Catholic Youth Ministry model of Faith Formation, specially designed for middle school students in grades 6-8. The curriculum follows the teaching of the Catechism of the Catholic Church over a three-year period using multi-media presentations and hands-on activities that are specifically designed for middle schoolers. It provides a safe place for youth to find solid Catholic community, to get answers to their questions about faith, and, most importantly, to experience Jesus in a profound and personal way. EDGE meets on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month from 5:00 - 7:30 pm at the Meenan Center (St. Mary campus.)
