Guidelines for Committed Adorers
 
Thank you for your commitment to spend time in the Real Presence of Our Lord!
 
Your main role as a Committed Adorer is to make sure that Our Lord IS NEVER LEFT UNATTENDED. Please STAY IN THE CHURCH FOR YOUR ALLOTTED TIME AND DO NOT LEAVE OUR LORD IN THE HANDS OF “VISITOR” ADORERS who can leave at any time. Only Committed Adorers are committed for the full hour.  If something does come up that prevents you from keeping your commitment please contact one of the people at the bottom of this page. 
 
Please adhere to the following guidelines as best as possible:
 

1. Genuflect upon entering and leaving the church. It is church tradition to genuflect on both knees when the Blessed Sacrament is exposed.

2. Please make yourself familiar with other adorers, if possible. When you are replacing another adorer for your hour, please make eye contact with that person or make some other kind of quiet signal to let that person know you have arrived. This will release that adorer from his/her duty.

3. If your hour is up, and the next person has not arrived, please call a Coordinator from the list below, who will contact that person. Please wait until a substitute arrives or ask a “visitor” adorer if they can stay for that hour, making sure it is understood that they can leave only when the next adorer arrives.

4. If you cannot come for your hour, please try to find a substitute. If you are unable to find a substitute, please call a Coordinator WITH AS MUCH NOTICE AS POSSIBLE, who will find an emergency substitute for you.

5. Please silence all electronic devices. None are to be used during Adoration other than to access prayers or make emergency calls.
